Celebration in Honor of Margaret Hurlburt
Enjoy an evening out from 4 to 8 p.m. at Rider's Inn in Painesville, Ohio, as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Margaret Hurlburt setting the women's speed record in a Corsair named "City of Painesville." Hurlburt was a teacher in the Painesville School District before leaving to join the war efforts as a WASP in 1943. Upon the disbandment of the WASP in 1944, Hurlburt continued her dream of flying by participating in air races and air demonstrations, until her untimely death on July 4, 1947.
